Gunnery has a whopping '''9''' specialisms, which is more than any other skill in Darkwind. A few of these can also be obtained from [[large guns]] and/or [[ballistics]].

=== Machine Guns ===
Increased accuracy with [[Machine Gun|Machine Guns]], [[Heavy Machine Gun|Heavy Machine Guns]], [[Gatling Gun|Gatling Guns]] and [[Heavy Gatling Gun|Heavy Gatling Guns]], and ability to [[jamming|unjam]] them

=== Flamethrowers ===
Increased damage with [[flamethrower|flamethrowers]] (and [[heavy flamethrower|Heavy flamethrowers]], and the ability to [[jamming|unjam]] them

=== Laserfire ===
Increased battery efficiency while firing with lasers and heavy lasers.

This makes the [[laser]] and [[heavy laser]] use less energy per shot. This means less energy used with the same damage inflicted, less recharge time back to full power equals more high power damage shots. All in all, a more efficient Laser.

=== Rocketeer ===
Increased accuracy with all types of rockets and missiles, and ability to [[jamming|unjam]] them.

=== Moving Targets ===
Skilled at hitting [[Accuracy Modifiers|moving targets]]

=== Sniper ===
Skilled at long range fire.

=== Rapid Reloading ===
Normal reload times are 10 turns. This specialism decreases the reload time by 1-2 turns. If you choose this specialism, the higher your gunnery/large gunnery skill is, the faster you can reload weapons. If you get to level 2 skill (100) reload times should be cut by 2/3rds depending on your "luck" roll per turn.
