You'll need a great deal of stone, car parts, electronic parts, and scrap metal, to build the camp. Make certain you have stocks available, or can afford to buy the quantities required.
Time
It will take 3-5 months (real time) to get it up and running.
Teamwork
Camps take a lot of time to get started, and to keep running. Get 2-4 partners to share the effort/cost.
Its tough running things alone. If you are low on food and can't get on to make the move, its great to PM your partner and ask him if he can do it for you. A few good camp members always help too.
Raw Materials
Check the main camp page for the requirements of the various buildings. The best way to stock a camp is to scout from it. This requires some logistics, ammo, fuel etc.
All towns have supplies of Stone, and just about everything else can be acquired from looting.
