The Mutant Merc is one of the first wilderness NPC builds that most players will see that sports an Anti-Tank Gun. The amount of armor that it can strip off with a single shot, as well as the massive amount of recoil that it will punish you with are very dangerous. Fortunately the ATG is a short range weapon and it is not hard to keep a Mutant Merc far enough from a gun line that it never gets to fire the big gun.
